Firmware Update

The wideband controller and display are tied to each other using their MAC address. When the firmware is updated, the MAC address of the partner unit must be input. Full instructions are below:

  • Plug the display unit into your computer.
  • Click the ‘Connect to Device’ button.
  • From the pop up menu that appears, select ‘USB/JTAG serial debug unit’.
  • In the next pop-up, click ‘Logs and Console’.
  • In the console, type mac. You’ll see the display unit and wideband controller’s MAC address displayed.
  • Click ‘Download Logs’ OR take a picture of the screen OR write down the wideband controller’s MAC address.
  • Click ‘Back’.
  • Click ‘Install Firmware for AMOLED Wideband Display’ and then ‘Install’ – Installation takes about 1 minute. Don’t unplug the device or touch your computer during this process.
  • Once the installation is complete, click ‘Done’ then ‘Logs & Console’ then ‘Reset Device’.
  • You’ll see some lines related to device initialization information, the last line being a prompt to enter the partner MAC address. Enter the wideband controller’s MAC address that was obtained earlier (capitalization doesn’t matter).
  • Upon successful entry, you’ll see the message ‘MAC saved: XX:XX:XX:XX:XX:XX’.
  • You’re all done! You can now unplug the device and put it back in the car.

If you forgot to make note of the wideband controller’s MAC address, don’t worry, we keep records of every MAC address. Send us an email to obtain the addresses of your devices.
