This downpipe is made for the P80 (1992-2000) AWD platform with an angled flange turbo. This downpipe is about 3.5 feet (1m) longer than a ‘standard downpipe’. It ends approximately 17 inches (43cm) past the driveshaft carrier support, a little bit further than midway down the length of the car.

The factory exhaust utilizes a ball flange about midway down the length of the car. This flange is usually rusted and frequently unusable. If the slip fitting option is ordered, then an adapter piece will be provided that slips over the factory exhaust, after the ball flange. The slip fitting is expanded to be a very tight fit over the factory exhaust, but even being such a tight fit, it can sometimes still leak. In the case that it does, the slip fitting can be welded to the stock exhaust.
For those with an after market cat-back exhaust we can provide the downpipe with a v-band flange at the end, for welding to your aftermarket exhaust.
All downpipes sold to customers in the United States are shipped with a catalytic converter that meets your state’s emissions compliance standards. For customers in California, Colorado, Maine and New York, you will receive a CARB compliant catalytic converter, specific to the engine code listed on your ‘VEHICLE EMISSION CONTROL INFORMATION’ sticker. This CARB compliant cat has a 2.25″ diameter inlet and outlet and an executive order number written on it for visual inspection.
For customers outside of CA, CO, NY or ME the downpipe comes with an EPA/Federal compliant 3″ catalytic converter. This is a high quality catalytic converter, unlike the catalytic converters fitted to most other after market downpipes. This catalytic converter will allow your car to pass a tail pipe smog test, assuming the engine is in otherwise good health.
The test pipe option places the catalytic converter between v-band flanges and include a straight section of 3″ tube of the same length. This will allow you to easily remove the catalytic converter when operating the car on a private race track.
The position of the rear/post-cat oxygen sensor is a few inches further rearward than the stock location. Some cars already have an oxygen sensor extension cable installed, but if you don’t have one, you will need to purchase one. MTC 171338 is the suitable part.
Does not come with turbo turbine flange gasket, PN 8642449, or turbine bolts, PN 988939.
