For those looking to step away from a factory sized turbo, this is a bolt on turbo kit available in 3 sizes, depending on the desired maximum horsepower. This kit is designed to be equivalent to OEM in terms of longevity, with all oil and water lines made from 16ga 304 stainless – no braided lines here! All installation hardware is included. A modified ‘R’ manifold is included in the base price – a Japanifold can be used instead if you provide the manifold.
The primary limiting factor for any stock frame turbo (TD04HL or KKK24) is the turbine housing and turbine wheel. ‘Hybridizing’ a stock turbo by increasing the compressor wheel size provides an increase in peak horsepower, but minimally increases power at high RPM and total power ‘under the curve’. This is due to choked exhaust flow due to the small turbine wheel and housing size. Increasing boost level to try and increase power only serves to increase exhaust gas back pressure, putting more stress on the engine. By switching to a larger turbine wheel and turbine housing you allow the motor to make more horsepower more easily. On top of that, ‘hybrid’ turbos can be more failure prone due to a greater amount of stress than what the small shaft size of a stock turbo was designed to handle.
These turbos come with a ‘RB26’ style 6 bolt outlet with an internal wastegate. This turbine housing allows for unrestricted wastegate flow into the main exhaust stream. A stainless steel 6 bolt turbine housing to 3″ v-band adapter flange is pre-installed. Your existing 3″ downpipe can be modified to fit, or a downpipe can be purchased. If a downpipe is purchased, it comes with a v-band flange exit and a v-band flange to weld to your current exhaust.
For the 18G and 20G turbos, the turbo inlet is 2.4″ – the same as stock, so your current pre-turbo intake tube can be re-used. For the 18k, the turbo inlet diameter is 3″. The turbo outlet for all turbos is in the same position as stock, so your current over the engine (OTE) pipe can be reused.
All turbos have the a 3 bolt compressor bypass mount on the compressor cover, just like stock TD04HL turbos. You can re-use your current upgraded CBV, or we can supply the turbo with a billet CBV and upgraded spring.
A billet adjustable wastegate actuator is included with every turbo. The optimal wastegate spring and pre-load is pre-configured.
While an entirely stock whiteblock engine can handle the boost from an 18G and even a 20G, the rods will be operating on thin ice. With that said, we do have customers with stock bottom ends running 25psi on E85 with the 20G. For reliability’s sake, we recommend that you at least upgrade your connecting rods.

These kits are custom made to order. Lead time from order placement to shipment is usually 2-3 weeks. We have jigs for the FWD P80 and P2 downpipe. We are currently working on jigs for the AWD P80 and P2, so they will take additional time to make.
